You rant and rave all you want! I don't think I could handle what you do. You are still sane and sound very sweet in how much you do to take care of them! You are a wonderful person, and to me, that dinner you made sounds pretty fancy! Maybe your dad would like to cook you dinner for a change?
I loved "it's bs tonight" too! That is so funny! Sit down, take a breath, and enjoy the hour of peace you'll get! Hugs to you!

That was awesome Dave! Thanks for the mini-vacation from my computer! It sounds gorgeous. They say vacation is spending a lot of money to see what rain looks like somewhere else! LOL!
I am dying to see the pics and hear anything your Beck has to say!

Thanks for posting this. My moms cousin was just diagnosed with this type of cancer. Basically, by the time you find out about it, there's nothing to stop it.
I am trying to send her a card, I haven't spoken to her since I was a kid (she lives far, far away) and I want to send positive vibes. I found a card that plays "I'm a survivor". It says "You're spirited, you're strong, you're a survivor" I figure it would work well. She is taking the chemo to prolong her life as long as possible. It is a hard thing to wrap your head around. To try on their shoes for a moment, and know you will not have the chance to live long. We all live a second away from death. Every car ride is a chance. But this is different. There is no putting off living today to the fullest. There is no substitute for positive thinking. I wish them both all the peace and comfort in the world as they stare this rival in the eye. God be with them. -

Thank you for sharing! I watched the first the three, I will have to finish up later....but I am struck at the similarities and how true your words rang as I listened. It was like we were awakened in the same way (reading the surrounding scripture and seeing how it just didn't apply as the "bro" read and applied it from the platform). It was nice to "meet" you up close and personal!

Well, I'm a dad for the first time all over again
by RisingEagle inwhen i found this site i considered myself a fader with family still in the cult.
i thought that i should limit personal information so that any lurking scumbag wts reps couldn't track me and jeopardize the relationships i walk on eggshells to maintain with my family.
but something happened last night that caused me to suddenly not give a rats anal orifice what jw's think.. i got called 'daddy'.. my wife and i went through the court system in the early 90's to get her 2nd cousin who was 11 at the time, out of protective services (which was a group home for abused children).

Congratulations Rising Eagle! Six is an amazing age! Enjoy all the beauty and wonder as you gaze through your baby's eyes! So glad she will be all yours soon! It sounds so exciting and scary as you wait for the documents, like waiting for the labour to be over and that new baby wrapped in a blanket safely in your arms! You two have loads of love in you! It is so clear from your post! (Have fun carrying all those bags of your professional shopper and her new assistant/protigee!) Your example is heartwarming.

I just completely lost it with my father!!!
by Es inmy mums mum is very sick, she has been in hospital the last month with really bad infection, they have tried every time of antibiotics to get rid of it.
this last week she has refused to eat and drink, she told my mum she was tired of all of this, and basically said her goodbyes the other night.. we went in on saturday to see her, my mum was there, and even tho it was a little strained we managed to talk for a few hours it was nice to see her.. i got a phone call off my dad's mum today saying that my nan was deteriorating, so i msg my mum to see if this was true, it wasnt, my nan likes to dramatise things, my mum promised me she would keep me updated.
i received a phone call about an hour ago from my nan (dads mum) saying that the infection has cleared up and that she is improving and eating and drinking.

Nice to see you back. The fair sounds fun. A fried SNICKERS on a stick? What will they think of next? Care for a Tums? Hubby's got them next to him for the pizza heartburn. You sound like you could use one or two! (Seriously-how do you fry a snickers, and what does that taste like?)

Visit from my mom, oh the joy.
by RollerDave ini realize it's been a while since i spun a good yarn, but the past few days i have had my mom staying with us, and that is enough to fuel a yarn if anything ever was.. it starts last week when my sister, mrs po was over at mom's trying to discover why mom's pc seems to randomly shut itself off for no apparent reason.
i imagine she scoured the house for garage sale items with attached legions of demons or mischievous smurf dolls before noticing a correlation between the ancient prehistoric freezer mom has switching on or off, and the lights dimming and the pc simply going poof.. but it couldn't be this pleistocene menace freezer that is the problems, it has to be the top-end pc i built mom.. please excuse me while i roll my eyes and peer at the back of my skull for a moment or two..... there.. anyhoo, it gets decided that i'll come out and pick mom up along with her pc and bring the both of them back to my house for a few days.. not decided by me mind you, but decided nonetheless.. i mean, i've got a giant truck that chugs gas as if from a fire hose and an electric scooter to ride up to mom's door, why shouldn't i go collect her, haul all her stuff to the truck, load it, help her climb up into the truck and then load my scooter?.
all from the back of my scooter, mind you.

Dave,
You are the best story teller! I just lmao reading this! Hubby actually had to stop watching the football game to ask me what was up. I completely agree you would make a great sitcom writer. With all the junk on tv now, they need something great! Thanks for the well thought out and written story. My sympathies for the circumstances under which it was made. Keepj your chin up and those lips puckered (that wife of yours sounds pretty sweet on ya and is sure to be by for a kiss soon.)
Wishing you peace and quiet! -

(raises hand)
My mother in law would have everyone over to her house. And then of course we'd have to hurry home and get ready for thursday night meeting. The food was all the traditional thanksgiving fare.
